NAPALM DEATH: 'On The Brink Of Extinction' Video Released
June 9, 2010"On The Brink Of Extinction", the new video from U.K. grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH, can be viewed below. The clip was recorded and edited by Daniel Brand, with animations by Danny Bacchus.
Singer Mark "Barney" Greenway explains the meaning behind 'On The Brink Of Extinction': "As regards the meaning of the song, we wanted to convey that the process of evolution is an amazing thing, but also to say that as human beings we have the ability to assist where other beings suffer. In other words, we don't just let the rule of 'survival of the fittest' dictate that we should just stand back and either allow things to go into decline or participate in it."
NAPALM DEATH is currently crisscrossing the globe from Europe over to Australia and Japan before returning to Europe on the Campaign For Musical Destruction Tour in November/December 2010 with IMMOLATION, WAKING THE CADAVER and more.
"Time Waits For No Slave", the latest album from NAPALM DEATH, entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 95. The CD, which was released in the U.S. in February 2009 via Century Media Records, was recorded with producer Russ Russell. Drums were tracked at Parlour Studios in Kettering and guitars, bass and vocals were done at Foel Studios in Wales. The band then returned to Parlour for the mixing sessions.
Greenway told Rock Sound magazine about "Time Waits For No Slave", "Each album appears to have got progressively better and better. There was no great master plan, really. We're just a very organic band, very spontaneous, and we just try to write the best songs possible. If there is anything in the back of our minds, then I think it's that we always try to make each album differ without losing the thread of what should be there and I think we've done that with this album."
